Our Kava Kava is harvested from Vanuatu & Fiji, quite possibly the homeland of Kava, it’s known by many names (Vanuatu) 'awa, it also is found in many other pacific islands  and goes by many names throughout its range (Hawaii), yangona (Fiji), sakau (Pohnpei), kava (Tonga), 'ava (Samoa). 

Our NEW & IMPROVED Kava Instant Powder is made from high quality Fijian Kava, extracted and powdered in Germany for 30% Kava lactones.   Kava from Fiji is reputed as one of the most potent available, the Kava is at least four years old prior to being harvested for extraction.  This new Kava Instant Powder is very stong, light to moderate effects are achieved from only five grams.  Please start with caution as this Kava Instant Powder is very strong with a Kavalactones content of 30%. Start with using no more then 2.5 to 5 gm in any 24 hour period.

Kava's rich traditional use throughout these islands is well known for centuries. Kava, Piper methysticum is usually drank from a coconut shell cups and is prepared in a tanoe (large, carved, hardwood bowl) this is filled with water. The Kava is then put into a strainer cloth and dipped into this water and is pressed and squeezed until the water takes on a opaque color, when the mixer/squeezer deems the Kava to be of proper strength he will then serve this to his honored guest via the coconut shells. If though to be to weak the cloth is returned to the water for more mixing/squeezing, if to strong more water is added to the bowl. Once the proper strength is attained the mixer/squeezer runs both hands around the rim of the tanoe and claps three times and proclaims “the Kava is ready”

The guests will drink the Kava in a oner, there is no sipping of the Kava!! After the Kava is drunk the participants sit around relaxing and telling stories. Kava known as the "Pacific Elixer", acts to transport imbibers to the realm of ancestors and gods. Kava or Kawa as it is known in the Polynesian region, drinking is an important function within the islands of Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia were its ritual use involves the invocation of ancestral spirits. Kava then can be compared to other psychoactive plants used by native peoples around the world as a means to transcend normal consciousness and to reinforce and validate spiritual beliefs.

In traditional use in Vanuatu and other Pacific Islands its said to induce sociability, feelings of peace and harmony and in large doses can be very sedative and euphoric, which is why it has long been considered an aphrodisiac.
